Which Health Screenings Are Important For Females?

For girls and women, learning how to monitor your health is one of the best ways you can love yourself. Routine checkups is a big part of lifelong wellness that should not be ignored. With a multitude of health conditions that can affect females, here are the most vital tests that every woman ought to focus on: 

 

Blood Glucose Test- To monitor the symptoms of diabetes. Usually starts at 45 years old (younger for women who show higher risk) and is typically done once every 3 years.  

 

Blood Pressure- Every young and active woman who are 20 & above should get their blood pressure checked once every 2 years (or females wore frequently if blood pressure levels are not optimal).

Bone Mineral Density Test:

Skin health- Seek out a dermatologist to help monitor skin irregularities, strange looking moles and detect warning signs of Melanoma (Skin Cancer).

Vaccinations- All women are to check with their healthcare providers regarding the following vaccines:  

  • Shingles
  • Pneumonia
  • Meningitis
  • Blood Infections
  • HPV
  • Common vaccinations (Chickenpox, influenza, Hepatitis,Tetanus, etc.)

 

Wellness Exam- Always attend a physical exam at least once per year to assess vaccination status, screen for illnesses and check the progress of chronic conditions.
